I’m delighted to share my book review with you today of fantastic psychological thriller Come Back For Me by Heidi Perks. Thank you to Rachel Kennedy for inviting me to be a part of the blog tour and to Arrow Publishing for my copy of this brilliantly tense book.
About the book:
A SHOCKING DISCOVERY.
A COMMUNITY WRAPPED IN SECRETS.
A tiny island community is stunned by the discovery of a long-buried body.
For Stella Harvey the news is doubly shocking. The body has been found in the garden of her childhood home – the home her family fled without explanation twenty-five years ago.
Now, questioning her past and desperate to unearth the truth, Stella returns to the isolated island. But she quickly finds that the community she left isn’t as welcoming as she remembers – and that people in it will go to any length to protect their secrets.
One thing rings true…
You can’t bury the truth forever.

My Review:
When I was asked to take part in the blog tour for Come Back For Me by Heidi Perks, I jumped at the chance. It sounded exactly like the sort of book I would love and I was not disappointed. It’s a gripping, edge of your seat psychological thriller that once started you do not want to put down.
Stella Harvey is stunned when the news breaks that a body has been found in the garden of her childhood home. The home she and her family fled from without explanation twenty five years ago when she was only eleven. Desperate to find out more, Stella returns to the isolated island of Evergreen, only to discover that nothing she remembered is quite as it seemed.
What follows is a tense and gripping thriller that slowly uncovers the events of the past. The story is told from the perspective of dual timelines. The first is 1993, the year Stella and her family fled the island and the second is Stella’s story in the present day. The jump back and forth between the past and the present works incredibly well here, with the truth being revealed little by little as we move through the book.
Come Back For Me drew me in from the very first page and didn’t let go until the final page had been turned. An addictive psychological thriller of family, secrets and intrigue that’s full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing throughout. There isn’t anything I didn’t love about this book. It has everything and is the perfect recipe for a first class read.
Highly recommended.
