I’m thrilled to welcome you today to my stop on the blog tour for fantastic thriller Death By Indulgence (previously released as Fat Chance) by A B Morgan. Thank you to Sarah Hardy from Books On The Bright Side Publicity for the invitation and to Junction Publishing for my copy of this wonderful book.

About the book:

This book was previously published as FAT CHANCE

Ella Fitzwilliam’s world is about to spiral out of control.

She’s not cut out to be a private investigator. With little or no aptitude for the job, she’s been sent undercover to expose the hidden lives of two men who meet nearly every week at Buxham’s – a private members’ club where portions are large and secrets are held in strictest confidence.

One of those men is Harry Drysdale, a defence barrister. The other is Marcus Carver, an eminent surgeon with a tarnished past and much to lose.

Ella knows he has unhealthy appetites, she’s sure he’s feeding his perverted habits and putting his female patients at risk but she has to prove it.

When Harry Drysdale goes missing, Konrad Neale TV journalist tries to reveal the truth behind the lies, but some of the secrets start to reveal themselves… and they are big.

About the author:

Alison Morgan: A former mental health nurse, country bumpkin at heart, married to a hairy biker, fascinated by words, loves live music and she has an innate ability to make people smile and laugh.

Her crime thrillers have a strong cast of characters helping to define the style and pace of each story inspired by her life and career as a Psychiatric Nurse, and her fascination with the extremes of human behaviour.

AB Morgan is the critically acclaimed author of A Justifiable Madness, Divine Poison, The Camera Lies and Stench.

Her latest psychological suspense has again been applauded for being refreshingly different within its genre.

My Review:

What a fantastic read Death By Indulgence by A B Morgan is! I’m not sure what I was expecting when I started it, but it certainly wasn’t this stylish and unpredictable thriller that once started I could not put down. Full of the twists and turns that make this kind of book so readable, it kept me enthralled from beginning to end. With short, sharp chapters that keep the story moving along at a fast pace, it’s a thrilling read that kept me on my toes throughout.

I loved the character of Ella and warmed to her from the very start. It made for a refreshing change to see mental health, especially Bipolar, used as such an integral part of a protagonists story. She is written with a depth and vulnerability that drew me to her from the outset, quickly coming to care and worry about her as she tries to uncover the truth behind the lies of Harry Drysdale and Marcus Carver.

The story is gripping and full of suspense, but there is also an underlying sense of humour to it that brings a lightness to the tale that I particularly enjoyed. A B Morgan has written a fascinating thriller that moves along at a steady pace, with characters who are brought vividly to life by her insightful writing.

A book to keep you guessing, Death By Indulgence is a psychological thriller that I would highly recommend. I love how different it is to my usual type of read and will look out for more by this fabulous author in the future.
