For my third and final post of the day I’m thrilled to welcome you to my stop on the blog tour for brilliant psychological thriller The Other You by J.S. Monroe. Thank you to Amber from Midas for giving me the opportunity to read and review this fabulous book!

Kate used to be good at recognising people. So good, she worked for the police,
identifying criminals in crowds of thousands. But six months ago, a devastating car
accident led to a brain injury. Now the woman who never forgot a face can barely
recognise herself in the mirror.

At least she has Rob. Young, rich, handsome and successful, Rob runs a tech
company on the idyllic Cornish coast. Kate met him just after her accident, and he
nursed her back to health. When she’s with him, in his luxury modernist house, the
nightmares of the accident fade, and she feels safe and loved.

Until, one day, she looks at Rob anew. And knows, with absolute certainty, that the
man before her has been replaced by an impostor.

Is Rob who he says he is? Or is it all in Kate’s damaged mind?

My Review:

The Other You by J.S. Monroe is a gripping page turner of a novel that’s full of intrigue and suspense. A fast paced read with short, sharp chapters that keep you turning the pages long into the night, this is a book that will keep you guessing right up until the final, thrilling conclusion.

Kate used to work for the police, identifying criminals in a crowd of thousands. But then a devastating car accident changed all that, and Kate is now barely even able to recognise her own face in the mirror. A recognised medical condition, Kate’s life has been turned upside down and inside out by this debilitating residual effect of her accident.

Rob is young, rich, handsome and successful. Kate met him just after her accident and he nursed her back to health. When she’s with him the nightmares of the past fade and she feels safe and loved. But then one day all of that changes when she looks at him and knows, with absolute certainty, that the man in front of her is an imposter and not the Rob she knows and loves. But is Kate right? Has Rob been replaced by an imposter? Or is it Kate’s damaged mind that’s playing tricks on her?

What follows is a thrilling story with plenty of twists, turns and surprises along the way. I love a book that keeps me guessing and this one did just that! You never quite know if what Kate is feeling is the truth or if Rob really is who he says he is, the tension slowly ratcheting up to breaking point as we reach the final, shocking conclusion.

The Other You is a fast paced and gripping psychological thriller that I would highly recommend. A fabulous read!
