About the book:
The Gift of Cockleberry Bay
From the author of the #1 BESTSELLING The Corner Shop in Cockleberry Bay
All of our favourite characters from Cockleberry Bay are back in this final, heart warming story in the series. Including Hot, Rosa Smith’s adorable dachshund and his new-born puppies.
Now successfully running the Cockleberry Café and wishing to start a family herself, Rosa feels the time is right to let her inherited Corner Shop go. However, her benefactor left one important legal proviso: that the shop cannot be sold, only passed on to somebody who really deserves it.
Rosa is torn. How can she make such a huge decision? And will it be the right one? Once the news gets out and goes public, untrustworthy newcomers appear in the Bay . . . their motives uncertain.
With the revelation of more secrets from Rosa’s family heritage, a new journey of unpredictable and life-changing events begins to unfold.
The Gift of Cockleberry Bay concludes this phenomenally successful series in typically brisk and bolshy style and will delight the many thousands of Rosa’s fans.

My Review:
The Gift of Cockleberry Bay is the conclusion to Nicola May’s brilliant and heartwarming Cockleberry Bay series. In this final instalment we see Rosa come to the difficult decision to let her inherited corner shop go. However, her benefactor has left one important legal proviso: the shop can’t be sold, only passed on to someone who really deserves it. But this leaves Rosa torn. How can she make such a huge decision? And with the news out in the open, untrustworthy newcomers begin to descend on the bay, their motives uncertain, making Rosa’s decision an even more difficult one…
What follows is another lovely, heartwarming story that brings together characters both old and new, leading to a beautifully written and fitting conclusion to this gorgeous series of books. All of the characters we’ve grown to love are here including Hot, Rosa’s adorable dachshund, and his newborn puppies. Rosa, as always, is a lovely but flawed character, who tries her best but doesn’t always get it right. I fell in love with her from the moment she was introduced, with this final chapter of her story making me love her even more.
Nicola May’s writing is as gorgeous as ever, bringing the world of Cockleberry Bay vividly to life, making you feel as though you know these people and genuinely care about what happens to them. I’ve loved every word of this glorious series that is escapism at its very best, something we all so desperately need right now. I was instantly transported to Rosa’s cafe by the sea, feeling the wind in my hair and the sun on my face. Pure bliss.
I adored this book and sped through the pages, only slowing down towards the end as I did not want this beautifully written, poignant and heartfelt story to come to an end. A fantastic conclusion to what has been a brilliant series of books.
Highly recommended.
