‘Brilliant, compelling, heart-wrenching writing.’ Peter James
The pretty market town of Sterndale is a close-knit community where everyone thinks they know everyone else. But at a lavish summer wedding a local celebrity is discovered slumped in the gardens, the victim of a violent assault that leads to a murder investigation.
As the police search for answers, suspicion and paranoia build – and the lives of the locals are turned upside down. Secrets that lurk beneath the pristine façade of Sterndale come to light as detectives close in on the truth…
A gripping and moving thriller with the emotional drama of series like BROADCHURCH and LIAR this is the perfect read for fans of Cara Hunter, Heidi Perks and Claire Douglas.

My Review:
Innocent by Erin Kinsley is a superbly written, fast paced and moving thriller that had me enthralled from beginning to end.
The close-knit community of Sterndale is rocked when a local celebrity is violently assaulted at a lavish summer wedding. As the search for answers gets underway, the lives of the locals are turned upside down as hidden secrets begin to come to the surface. But as the police close in on the truth and the tension ratchets up to almost breaking point, the finger of suspicion hovers over them all as their paranoia continues to build…
With an intricately woven plot, a shocking mystery to solve and plenty of twists and turns along the way, Erin Kinsley has written yet another fantastic thriller that once started I did not want to put down. Her writing style is wonderful and has an emotional resonance to it that really draws you in, making you care about these characters as their stories slowly unfold. Innocent has a great mix of characters and a storyline that delves deep beneath the surface of the locals personal lives as well as having a mystery for the police to solve, which adds a heart wrenching human element to the story that is incredibly well written and moving.
As the detectives uncover the truth and the pieces of the puzzle begin to slot into place, the claustrophobic atmosphere of the market town is almost palpable. With shocks and surprises that will keep you guessing throughout, Innocent is a compelling read that I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.
Erin Kinsley‘s writing is outstanding and I can’t wait to see what this talented author has in store for us next!
