#BlogTour – #BookReview of #TruthOrDare by M.J. Arlidge #DIHelenGrace @Tr4cyF3nt0n @orionbooks #CompulsiveReaders

I’m delighted to welcome you today to my stop on the blog tour for Truth or Dare, the gripping new thriller by acclaimed author M.J. Arlidge and number 10 in his fabulous Helen Grace series of books. Thank you to Tracy Fenton and Orion Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

About the book:

A crimewave sweeps through the city and no-one is safe. An arson at the docks. A carjacking gone wrong. A murder in a country park. What connects all these crimes without causes, which leave no clues?

Detective Inspector Helen Grace faces the rising tide of cases which threatens to drown the city. But each crime is just a piece of a puzzle which is falling into place.

And when it becomes clear just how twisted and ingenious this web of crime is, D.I. Grace will realise that it may be impossible to stop it . . .

About the author:

M. J. Arlidge has worked in television for the last twenty years, specialising in high-end drama production, including prime-time crime serials Silent WitnessTornThe Little House and, most recently, the hit ITV show Innocent. In 2015 his audiobook exclusive Six Degrees of Assassination was a number-one bestseller. His debut thriller, Eeny Meeny, was the UK’s bestselling crime debut of 2014 and has been followed by 9 more DI Helen Grace bestsellers.

My Review:

Truth or Dare by M.J. Arlidge is the tenth book in the excellent DI Helen Grace series of books. Although part of a series this is a book that can easily be read as a standalone. With short, punchy chapters and an exciting and tension filled plot, this is a book that once started I did not want to put down. I’m a huge fan of these books and this latest installment did not disappoint in the slightest, in fact I would go as far as to say that this was the best one so far!

As a crime wave sweeps through the city, DI Helen Grace finds herself busier than ever before. But what starts out as a series of seemingly unconnected cases soon turns into something much more sinister, with Helen and her team finding themselves under pressure to solve the rising tide of cases before time runs out. With a complex plot and a storyline that keeps you guessing throughout, Truth or Dare is a book full of intrigue and suspense that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end.

Helen Grace is a fascinating character who keeps on going from strength to strength. I’m always excited when a new book by M.J. Arlidge is released and this one was every bit as good as I hoped it would be. And after that ending I hope it won’t be too long until we catch up with DI Helen Grace once again!

A fast paced police procedural that had me riveted from beginning to end, Truth or Dare is a book I would highly recommend. And even though it can easily be read as a standalone, I would say starting the entire series from the very beginning would make for a much richer and more rewarding reading experience.

An excellent addition to a wonderful series of books. Roll on the next one!

Truth or Dare by M.J. Arlidge is available to purchase now.
