My Review:

Written during the lockdown of 2020, The Little Blue Door by Francesca Catlow tells the emotional story of Melodie who, in a post-pandemic world, is feeling lost and alone. So she sets out on a trip to Corfu, a place that reminds her of her recently deceased grandparents and the happy times they all spent there, only to find herself haunted by memories and events from the past. Reconnecting with old friends, Melodie basks in the beauty of the island, reacquainting herself with the sights, sounds and smells of the place she loves so much.

But what, if anything, will the intriguing and handsome man Melodie met while travelling have to do with her future? Or will it be the young girl from the plane with the piercing green eyes who finally unlocks the door to Melodie’s fate?

Beautifully written by Francesca Catlow, The Little Blue Door is very much a character driven story that touches on the moving and emotional themes of grief, loss and rediscovery, taking you on a heartfelt journey that leaves you with a warm and hopeful feeling as you turn the final page.

The Little Blue Door is a gorgeous and emotional debut that brings the island of Corfu vividly to life. The first in a series, it is a lovely, heartwarming read that I would recommend. I look forward to reading more by Francesca Catlow in the future.
