#BlogTour – #BookReview of #BehindTheOliveTrees by @FrancescaCatlow @RandomTTours #RandomThingsTours #CorfuWithCatlow

I’m delighted to welcome you today to my stop on the blog tour for the gorgeous Behind the Olive Trees by Francesca Catlow, second book in the heartwarming series that began with The Little Blue Door. Thank you to Anne Cater and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this warm and beautiful story.

About the book:

Melodie returns to her mother’s house in Corfu for the first time since inheriting it. Only, she discovers it isn’t empty. She finds someone has been living there; a girl who claims the property is hers.

Behind The Olive Trees is the second book in the Little Blue Door series, and is set in 2022 within the context of the pandemic. The novel is a continuation of Melodie’s journey to finding herself and finding out about her past, but has also been adored by readers new to Catlow’s work.

This is women’s fiction at its best, with a unique balance of romance, family saga and mystery-thriller all rolled into the real-world-escapism of the UK’s favourite Greek island, Corfu.

About the author:

Francesca Catlow is a mother of two young children and a carer to her husband, she has created her own publishing brand to produce novels her own way and to create her own work-life freedom.

Born and raised in the heart of Suffolk, Catlow has travelled extensively in Europe with her French husband and, more recently, their two children. Of all the places she’s been, it is the Greek islands that have captured her heart.

My Review:

Set in a post pandemic 2022, Behind the Olive Trees by Francesca Catlow is a continuation of the heartwarming story that began in gorgeous and emotional novel The Little Blue Door.

Returning to Corfu for the first time since inheriting her mother’s house, Melodie is taken by surprise to find someone living there. A girl who claims the house isn’t Melodie’s at all but belongs to her. I don’t want to say too much more as this is an aspect of the story I loved, but that is best to read and enjoy for yourself.

And so begins an intriguing new chapter in Melodie’s life as she continues her journey of self discovery. Who is the girl who has taken up residence in her mother’s house? And can Melodie begin to move forward with her life and allow herself to find happiness at last? Behind the Olive Trees is the perfect combination of mystery, intrigue, romance and family drama, all set against the picturesque backdrop of a Corfu that is as atmospheric as always.

Beautifully written by Francesca CatlowBehind the Olive Trees is still very much a character driven story that continues Melodie’s journey through grief and rediscovery as she finally begins to put the past behind her, allowing herself to move towards embracing everything life has to offer.

In Melodie, Francesca Catlow has created a warm and likeable character who you can’t help but fall in love with. Every bit as lovely as the first book in the series, Behind the Olive Trees is a heartwarming read that I would highly recommend. And, as with The Little Blue Door before it, this is a gorgeous and emotional read that brings the island of Corfu vividly to life and I look forward to seeing what the author has in store for this wonderful character in the future.

Simply gorgeous! I loved it.
